Acoustic Guitar Primer
Published in Paperback by Cassette & Video Learning Systems (10 January, 1995)
Author: Bert Casey
Average review score:

Great intro to Country and Bluegrass Flatpicking.
I've been fooling around with the guitar off and on for 25 years. After all that time I still consider myself a beginner. This summer I was having another "serious" go at playing when I bought Casey's book on the recommendation of a guitar shop owner. One of my problems is that I know the intro and "signature" lick of many songs, but when asked to perform for friend and family, I just didn't have a repertoire of complete songs (either standards that everyone can sing-along with or instrumentals that stand on their own). Casey's book has solved this problem, the first dozen or so pages are pretty basic, but then things get interesting. Casey has excellent (yet simple) arrangements of traditional bluegrass and country songs that make great additions to one's repertoire while also teaching playing techniques: alternating base, bass runs between chord changes, combining hammer-ons and pull-offs with strumming, etc. They are easy enough for the beginner to play while having enough fancy licks to impress non-players with your chops. The included CD has all songs at slow and performance tempos to help with learning the songs. Some of my particular favorites are "Rolling in my Sweet Baby's Arms", "Sitting on top of the World", and "Wabash Cannonball". I've been having a lot of fun with this book for the past couple of months. The information in this book is also available on Video and DVD, which I am considering buying.

Acoustic Guitars
Acoustic Guitar Primer is a good book written by Author Bert Casey.

This is a cover of an acoustic guitar?

Art Glass Details : Frank Lloyd Wright's Hollyhock House
Published in Plastic Comb by Prairie Designs of California (10 April, 2000)
Author: Dennis Casey
Average review score:

Hollyhocks are summer flowers, but of lasting memory...
just as Frank Lloyd Wright reflected on the environment in every situation, it was as though he were consulting a calendar, very much the Feng Shui master of homes and high-rises, and in the case of this home he uses two old concepts to great effect, making the situation one of effortless variabilty, or timeless change as we'd call it today. The only comparison I wuold make here is in the area of travel memoirs; compare Dennis Casey's aestethic views with Carleton Beals "Glass House", an auot-biographical imprint that visits Mexico, Spain, and Italy, etc.
and you get the general idea. There used to be a proverbial saying for Architecture students at Universities; accredited to 'Old Frosty' (whether correctly, we've yet to ascertain) "There is a 'WRIGHT' way... and then there is the 'Other Guys' way!" But by any yardstick-this book is great!

Casey nails down Hollyhock widows
I've been buying FLLW glass patterns from Dennis Casey for years. I own all his other books and this is his best yet! For those who follow Wright's designs and his display of truth through art, accuracy and explanation are very important. Dennis Casey was allowed to take his micrometer into the Hollyhock house. Reading this book is like walking through the house. Each step is beautifully detailed: "...with surrounding glass, is exciting in the true since of the word. It is as if you walked into a room with a full symphony orchestra playing."

Three quarters of the book is detailed drawings, which will satisfy even the most picayune artisan among us. I'll continue to stare at these pages until I understand.

Casey Jones's Fireman: The Story of Sim Webb
Published in Hardcover by Phyllis Fogelman Books (September, 1999)
Authors: Nancy Farmer and James Bernardin
Average review score:

Great Train Book
A great book that mixes the story of a legendary folk hero and a supernatural battle between heaven and hell. Nancy Farmer is a great writer and the oil paintings bring the story to life.

What a treasure
I came upon this book just browsing in a childrens book store. I love how the story hints at a supernatural struggle in the midst of a folk story about the early days of railroad. Beautifully written and the pictures are gorgeous.

Great Lessons
All of my children have enjoyed this book for several years. Many visitors, friends, and relatives have delighted in its pleasant message, clever rhyme, and beautiful illustrations. The companion books Sir Maggie the Mighty , Handy Dandy Helpful Hal, and Max and the Big Fat Lie are great, too. It is a shame that they are no longer in print. They make great gifts.

Terrific for young kids.
I have three boys and each one has loved this series. We have 9 books in the series and each one is in rhyme. The books are all focused on one character theme with a printed Bible verse at the end of the story.

Love in the making...
Widowed and very pregnant, Casey Stevens was fifty frigid Alaskan miles from the nearest hospital when her contractions began. So when a stranger helped her in her hour of need, Casey knew she would never forget him...

Ever since he'd helped deliver Casey's son, Leon Brodie had tried to ignore the bond he formed with the captivating woman - for the daring pilot prized his freedom above all. But Leon couldn't deny his feelings for the beautiful single mom - or the baby he'd come to think of as his own. Was this confirmed bachelor considering building a cozy Alaskan nest - big enough for three?

Casey's Flyboy
I thougth this was an excellent book about how much love can change a person. I ordinarily hate romance novels, but I couldn't even set this book down for a second!

Vacation Magic
Casey is adorable and Nick is not only wealthy but warm, funny and romantic and very protective over Casey. Erik is a real jerk that you'll love to hate. This story is entertaining and fast paced. I had to keep reading to see what was going to happen next...couldn't put it down.

Romance in Greece
A truly delightful story of a teacher on vacation flying to Greece. A now married ex fiance hounds Casey and almost ruins her vacation plans until she is rescued by a tall handsome stranger. Not knowing this stranger is in love with her. "Love at first sight", isn't it grand! Nick fell in love with her when he saw her in Rome's airport a few weeks ago.
Whisked away to his home in Athens, Casey finds herself enveloped in Nick's charm and love.
Nightmares of her past shadow her growing love for Nick.
Can't put it down book.

MENTAL FITNESS COMBINED WITH PHYSICAL FITNESS FOR KIDS
Great book for older siblings to read to younger ones. Kids today sit too much at the computer and TV setting a foundation for low activity levels and later weight problems . This book creates an early interest in exercise promoting a positive body image and high self-esteem.

Great book for elementary school children, kids loved it.
Develops psychological immunity with animated characters such as Angroid (anger & hostility virus), Graboid (greedy & grabby virus) and Fearoid (virus of fear). I found the book enlightening for both parent and child providing an excellent foundation for communication - teaching children ways to control their anger and build their self-esteem.

Devices for Integrated Circuits : Silicon and III-V Compound Semiconductors
Published in Hardcover by John Wiley & Sons (January, 1999)
Author: H. Craig Casey
Average review score:

very good book
If you are loooking for one book that will give you all the fundamentals of semiconductor device physics, then this book is the best choice. It clearly illustrates the concepts of mobility, BJT's, MOS, Schottky Barrier Devices, MOSFET, etc. However this book lags in the explanation of small signal behavior of these devices. Good fundamentals about spice simulation of these devices is provided.

authoritative and up-to-date
This book competes with RF Pierret "Semiconductor Device Fundamentals" and BG Streetman "Solid State Electronic Devices". Compared to Pierret there is less reader feedback in terms of review and worked problems. Problems tend to be of the same type and level.

Compared to Streetman (5th Edition) coverage is narrower, without optoelectronic, microwave and power devices. For electrical engineers, this greater focus is rewarded in Casey's book with in-depth introduction to SPICE simulations of all covered devices. For MOSFETs focus is on level 1 and level 2 PSpice, with a description of higher models up to level 6, BSIM3.

In addition to PSpice, the sales point for Casey is physics of device operation. For example, it has solid discussions of intrinsic carrier density (why doesn't simple formula agree with experiment?) and of MOSFET threshold voltage. None of the other books come close for authoritative, basic argument.

Dishing With Kathy Casey: Food, Fun, and Cocktails from Seattle's Culinary Diva
Published in Paperback by Sasquatch Books (October, 2002)
Authors: Kathy Casey and E. Jane Armstrong
Average review score:

The ultimate party book
I have used Kathy Casey's book to plan several parties. The recipies are not complicated and she includes tips on making items ahead of time.
I was able to enjoy my own party and not worry about last minute details. My guests raved about the appetizers.

Original & Fun
I have just started reading this cookbook and cannot wait to get cooking. I rearranged my Thanksgiving menu just to try some of these recipes. The recipes are original, not overly complicated and are sure to please. If you have enjoyed Simply Classic (Seattle Junior League) or the Contessa's earlier books, you will love this. This will be my newest favorite gift to give.
